Introducing Recreate Remotely!

2020 Coloring Contest InstructionsEach Monday, Wednesday and Friday, watch for ideas for fun fitness and health suggestions and leisure activities you can do while social distancing.

Also, watch for our Recreate Remotely for ideas on staying fit and active during this challenging time, plus sneak peeks into what your Parks and Recreation staff do for recreation in their free time!

Beginning April 1, we are kicking off Recreate Remotely with the following fun and interactive spring activities!

Try our Virtual Weight Loss Challenge

Accept the challenge to maintain or lose weight during a time when social distancing, working from home and sheltering in place are the norm. Register here by Monday, April 6 (Code FP-P151). Take a picture of your feet on a scale with your weight in pounds and email it to Amy at acrary@invergroveheights.org also by Monday, April 6. Work hard to maintain your weight. Watch for motivational tips from our Parks and Recreation staff on Mondays and, on Wednesdays, look for "We’re All in this Together" activities for all ages to keep you sane on Wednesdays!

Spring Coloring Contest

Although we can’t hold the annual egg hunts this year, that’s not stopping us from celebrating spring by hosting a festive coloring contest. 1st place prizes will be awarded in each of the four categories:

  • Ages 0-Grade 1 and Grade 2-4 will submit the official happy spring coloring sheet. Download coloring sheet and instructions here.
  • Grades 5-8 and Grades 9+ will submit a self-made colored drawing depicting their personal vision of spring. Download drawing sheet and instructions here.

Submit your sheets to Chelsea at cswiggum@invergroveheights.org or mail them to the Parks and Recreation Office (Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation, 8055 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077). Entries are due by Sunday, April 12.

Good luck! Have fun! Take care!
