The City of Inver Grove Heights has received 33 applications from individuals expressing interest in the Police Chief position. Those most promising applicants were invited to provide additional information on their experience and background, offering insights into applicant accomplishments, interactions with the community and other stakeholders, and their management style and interpersonal qualities.
After careful review, information on nine semi-finalists has been forwarded to the City Council. As a group, these semi-finalists reflect a strong representation from Minnesota public safety professionals. Some candidates are seeking their first chief position while others are attracted to the City and the opportunity to grow the department as the City’s population increases.
On October 25, at a Special Meeting the City Council will select finalists who will be invited to participate in interviews scheduled to take place from November 7-9. Information on the finalists will be released following the October 25, 2017 meeting.
