Be prepared for upcoming major delays as eastbound I-494 will have reduced lanes between 7th Ave. and Hwy 61 and ramp closures in South St. Paul.
Beginning 8 p.m. Sun, June 16, EB I-494 will be reduced to a single lane between 7th Ave. and Hwy 61 as crews install barrier on the road. Crews will work through the night to complete the switch and by 5 a.m. Mon, June 17, EB I-494 will be reduced to two lanes between 7th Ave. and Hwy 61 until early-August.
The Concord St. loop ramp to EB I-494 will also be closed and detoured beginning 8 p.m. Sun, June 16 through early-August. Follow the signed detours to Hardman Ave. and EB I-494 during the closures.
You should expect delays on adjacent routes due to the lane and ramp closures on EB I-494. Please plan ahead and know your route.
These traffic shifts and ramp closures are part of a larger project on I-494 where crews will widen, resurface and replace bridge joints on the Concord St./Hwy 156 bridge, construct auxiliary lanes on WB I-494 between Hardman Ave. and west of 5th Ave., improve drainage and construct noise walls.
