Snow Removal on Public Sidewalks and Trails

Due to the amount of snow we have received it will take more time to finish sidewalks and trails. We are aware some children walk to and from school so the effort is made to clear sidewalks and trails near the schools first once the roadways are finished. Tomorrow (2/13)  after finishing the snow cleanup of public streets and cul-de-sacs, the process of clearing snow from sidewalks and trails will begin. This process will take at least four days to complete if it doesn’t snow again. Clearing snow from walks and trails is slow going and is hard on equipment so breakdowns can occur which may delay the process. Please be patient.
Dakota County is planning to wing back the snow along county roads. This will give them room for more snow storage for coming snow events. Once Dakota County Public Works finishes winging back their roads we will again clear sidewalks and trails affected by the process.
