City Closures in response to COVID-19
COVID-19 has changed the landscape for all Minnesotans, and we as a city have been carefully considering what is best for our community and our staff and their families at this time.
Out of an abundance of caution and care for our staff and community, and in alignment with the recommendations of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), the City has closed many facilities to the public and cancelled programs and events.
This includes extending the closure of the Veterans Memorial Community Center (VMCC) through May 1 and keeping the Inver Wood Golf Course closed until further notice.
Inver Grove Heights parks and trails remain open. Read all the details on how to stay safe when visiting.
ALL Parks & Recreation Programs and events which occur during the City’s closure period are Canceled, Rescheduled or Postponed until June 1, 2020. Participants will be contacted by Parks & Recreation staff regarding membership, rental and registrations for programs that are taking place during this period.

Update on Comprehensive Park, Recreation, Trail, and Facility Public Outreach Meetings due to COVID-19
March 25, 2020
Inver Grove Heights Residents,
On Tuesday, March 17 the Inver Grove Heights City Council confirmed a Declaration of a local State of Emergency for the City of Inver Grove Heights effective until Friday, April 17, 2020. Our Emergency Operations declaration indicates that we will be closed for 30 days or until such time as the local State Emergency Order is lifted, or the City Council decides otherwise. Therefore, City Hall, the VMCC, Inver Wood Golf Course and all other public facilities will be closed to the public through Friday, April 17, 2020. City staff will continue to provide essential city services such as police, fire, water and sewer utilities.
The COVID-19 situation is changing daily, and we are acting as quickly as possible to support the needs of our community. We will be postponing our Comprehensive Park, Recreation, Trail, and Facility public outreach meetings until the COVID-19 situation has been resolved. Please look for more information to follow.
If you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 651-450-2587.
