Inver Grove Height’s Parks & Recreation strives to provide a variety of fun and engaging special events to connect our community members to one another, keep our community active, provide a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors and share the many great amenities and features the City and Parks & Rec has to offer!

Weather Impacts to city-led programs and events

IGHs Weather Hot Line (651-450-2595) is the only place to check the status for city-led program and events due to inclement weather. We strive to update by 4:30 p.m. After hours, it is up to the coaches and instructors to make the final decision.

St. Paul Farmers Market  I  Sundays, June 14-Oct. 11  I  8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Open as scheduled!

Shop for fresh and locally grown fruits, vegetables, seasoning, salsa, honey, flowers and more at the Saint Paul Farmers Market! The event is free to attend, but the vendors will charge for their items. Each event will be in the VMCC Parking Lot at 8055 Barbara Ave.

Twins Baseball Clinic | CANCELLED for 2020

Our partner, Twins Baseball Club - the host of this event, has decided to cancel for this year. Another opportunity will be provided in Summer 2021.

Equipment is provided; However, please:

  • Bring your own glove, we don’t want to share those! 
  • Participants should bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • Participants should come to the facility no more than 5 minutes before program start time or during specified check-in/ out time. 
  • Only one parent/guardian can accompany younger children to the facility, when possible.
  • Each participant will be asked to bring their own water bottle and label it. May not have access to public drinking fountains on site. 
  • All participants must complete a waiver on-site.

In the case of inclement weather, Clinic will be moved to the Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbara Avenue.

IGH Food Truck Events  I  July 23 and August 20 | All Ages!

Taste different delicious dishes from local food trucks! The events are free to attend, but the food trucks will charge for their menu items. 

  • Thursday, July 23 - VMCC Parking Lot (8055 Barbara Ave): 4:30-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 20 - End of Summer Celebration - Rich Valley Athletic Complex, 1841 105th Street E., IGH: 5:30-8 p.m.

Terrific Tuesdays  I  Select Tuesdays July & August  I 10:30 a.m. | FREE!*

Come celebrate with us on these free, fun family days! No need to register, just come! Bring your own chairs, blankets, snacks, etc. and maintain social distancing.

Night to Unite  I  Tuesday, Oct. 6  I  FREE!

Night to Unite is an effective and fun way to get to know your neighbors and prevent crime. This is a chance for neighbors to turn on their lights, lock their doors, and come together to strengthen their neighborhood bonds.

Each neighborhood decides how they want to celebrate Night to Unite and you can invite city staff from Police, Fire and Parks & Recreation to stop by your event...but you must register. Registration will open later this summer.
