Plastic Bag Collection Challenge

6-Month Collection Ending May 15, 2019

Plastic bags can be recycled, but not in your home recycling cart. Instead, drop-off your plastic bags at a specialty collection bin. On America Recycles Day (Nov. 15, 2018), the City of Inver Grove Heights kicked off a 6-month plastic bag collection challenge in partnership with Trex Inc. Since then, the City has collected over 900 pounds of plastic bags and film to recycle with your help! Trex Inc. will use your bags to make composite wood, made from a blend of 95 percent recycled wood and plastic film. For our collection efforts the City will be award with a community bench made by Trex Inc.

From now until May 15, 2019

The City of Inver Grove Heights will collect the following accepted items at IGH City Hall (8150 Barbara Ave) & the Community Center (8055 Barbara Ave) until May 15, 2019.
